Purity of Intent: the premise of Tom Gribble's art
Graphic Diversity I and II
Graphic Diversity I came as a result of a Diversity Grant from Spokane Community College. The process involved digital images of students, staff, and visitors to the college. The images were layered with images of original paintings and then filtered to create an optical composite in poster sized offerings. The collection is a permanent exhibit in the multicultural center at the community college.
Graphic Diversity I: Student by the Sea
As an extension of GD I, the lastest collection, Graphic Diversity II, of Tom Gribble's is still unfolding. The process involves graphic sketching of subjects (mostly anonymous), digitalizing the sketches, filtering them and layering them onto other images (digital photos, filtered paintings, etc.). There are currently twenty completed composites in Graphic Diversity II.
